Sharon has had extensive experience in the supervision of both practicum students as well as provisional psychologists working towards completion of their 1600 hours of supervised practice. Focusing specifically on educational psychology, Sharon provides supervision in informal and formal assessment in the areas of learning disabilities, giftedness, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder. Upon completion of five years of professional practice, Sharon began her supervision practice while working as the Manager of Assessment Services at Foothills Academy. In her five years with the organization, she supervised six provisional psychologists all of whom have gone onto successful psychological practices including Moroz Child Psychology Services, and Foothills Academy Estelle Siebens Community Services. Since opening her private practice in 2010, she has supervised several provisional psychologists, who have since completed the registration process.
Supervision includes one to two hours of weekly face-to-face supervision, case consultation, direct observation, shadowing, and report editing as per College of Alberta Psychologist guidelines. Support, including practice exams, for the Oral Examination is provided. All of her supervisees have passed both their oral and written examinations on their first attempts. Sharon completed the Online Supervision course as offered through the University of Calgary in 2007. Provisional psychologists must have an external placement.
Sharon is currently working with a provisional psychologist for the 2017/2018 school year.
